The Salvation Army continued. Supporting our Armed Forces.
Our previous post described the support The Salvation Army provided the public following the death of Her Majesty The Queen, read on as the SA tell us how another gazebo was used:
“The second vehicle and Gazebo were on Horse Guards Parade supporting the very large crowds that gathered in the day time and those who had decided to camp out overnight in the Royal Park and on the Mall. We also, as you can see in the photos supported large numbers of our Armed Forces during the day and overnight when rehearsals took place.
Overall from the supplies used we estimate we supported 50-60,000 people with refreshments and emotional support over the days leading up to The Queens funeral and the marquees were well used.
Your Gazebos are so often used to promote organisations and The Salvation Army uses them for that purpose. But in terms of our Emergency Response, they are a vital piece of equipment and often provide shelter from heat or bad weather or privacy where people can be supported.
They also offer a safe place to rest up for the Emergency Services, Voluntary Sector colleagues who are supporting Missing Person Searches or other incidents, and for individuals and families affected when a major incident occurs in their community.
The quality of your shelters are excellent and it is always good to work with you.”
